Ozark Pudding


Ozark pudding is a very rich sweet pudding recipe. Ozark pudding is an old fasioned pudding dessert. Ozark pudding comes from Southern food, and it’s best for those who can’t eat whole wheat based desserts since Ozark pudding recipe uses very little flour.


Vanilla 1-1/2tsp divided
Baking powder1-1/4tsp
Flour 2 tabs
Salt 1/8tsp
Sugar 3/4 cup plus 1tsp divided
Walnuts or pecans, toasted, chopped 1/2 cup
Heavy cream 1/2cup
Egg 1
Apple, peeled, finely chopped 1 medium
Fresh mint sprigs


Mix together dry ingredients. And beat 3/4 cup sugar, egg and 1 tsp vanilla until smooth; put in the dry ingredients blending well. Then fold in apples and nuts; put into a greased 9-inch pie pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. The dessert will rise then fall, so don’t be alarmed, it is normal.

Combine cream with the remaining 1 tspsugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla; whip to soft peaks.  Spoon Ozark Pudding into a glass or on dessert plates; top with whipped cream; garnish with a mint sprig and u can serve this easy dessert warm or cold. (Serves 4)
