Pineapple Squares

Sugar 2 tabs
1cup oleo
Warm milk 2/3 cup
Flour 3cups
Egg yolks 3
Dry yeast 1 packet
Vanilla 1tsp
Cornstarch 3tabs
Egg yolk 1
Sugar 1/2 cup

filling: 2 cans pineapple pie filling
            " or "
1 lb. 14 0z can undrained crushed pineapple


First Cut oleo into flour as for pie dough until pea size crumbs. Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Include sugar, vanilla and egg yolks, and flour mix well.
Knead into a soft smooth dough, adding more flour if needed. Divide into 2 pieces. Roll each piece into a 9 x13 rectangle. Then place a pie of rolled dough in pan. Put the cooled
Filling if cooked or 2 cans of the canned pie filling. And add top crust and carefully seal edges. Let rise 1 hour. Bake 350 for 35 minutes. Cool to room temperature. If top crust
crumple when removed from oven, lay a tea towel over crust while cooling. This trick flattens out the crust. Cut into square shapes when cold. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
For filling: Mix together all ingredients well and cook  over medium heat until thickened.
